How to choose an oxygen concentrator 2021

How to choose an oxygen concentrator 2021

An oxygen generator is a device that releases 1-10 liters of oxygen extracted from the atmosphere for breathing. The device provides important functions for the human body. It is used for oxygen treatment of serious diseases and minor diseases related to the heart, blood vessels and respiratory organs

Oxygen Concentrator 2021

How does the oxygen generator work?

The normal functioning of human organs and systems requires oxygen. Even with short-term hypoxia (this phenomenon is called hypoxia in medicine), a person’s immune system will deteriorate, metabolism will be disturbed, muscle pain will appear, neurasthenia, migraine, weakness, and decreased mental capacity.

With hypoxia, it is important to replenish hypoxia as soon as possible. Therefore, doctors recommend oxygen therapy. If an oxygen concentrator is not used, this operation is impossible. The device releases oxygen from the atmosphere and passes it through special zeolite balls, which are designed to retain nitrogen molecules. As a result, a special mixture was obtained, consisting of 95% oxygen. The oxygen mixture enters the diffuser for inhalation

The device is very simple. It is based on an oxygen generator and consists of 2 zeolite cylinders, each of which is responsible for performing specific operations: one purifies oxygen from nitrogen residues, and the second produces colorless gas. Nitrogen and other compounds are "released" into the atmosphere. The oxygen generator consists of a compressor that blows air into the tank, a dryer, a humidifier and an air filter. The medical device is connected to a power source or runs on a rechargeable battery.

Types of oxygen generators

There are many types of oxygen concentrators, which are classified according to performance (power), performance type and range. According to the type of execution, the equipment is divided into portable and fixed type. In terms of application, these devices can be medical, household and general purpose

Medical oxygen concentrators are used in ambulances, nursing homes, dormitories and hospitals. These devices can be designed for different purposes: provide emergency care; long-term oxygen therapy for cardiopulmonary diseases. In the treatment department and operating room, a fixed device with a capacity of 5-10 liters per minute is used. The portable oxygen generator is installed on the ambulance.

General purpose equipment with an average capacity of 1 to 5 liters per minute can be used at home and under fixed conditions. They are also equipped with:

  • Nursing home
  • gym;
  • Beauty salon.

These devices can be used for preventive purposes as well as direct treatment. The equipment used at home is characterized by a small performance index (up to 3 liters per minute). They are small and easy to use. With the help of the oxygen generator, you can prepare an oxygen cocktail or perform preventive inhalation at home

Indications for oxygen therapy

  • Respiratory failure;
  • pulmonary hypertension;
  • Cystic fibrosis;
  • Bronchial Asthma;
  • heart failure;
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

The doctor prescribes breathing oxygen therapy for the patient according to the course of the disease and the nature of the disease (the duration of an operation varies from half an hour to 60 minutes).

During inhalation, 95% of the colorless gas compensates for the lack of oxygen that occurs during heart and respiratory failure. With the help of the operation, the patient's shortness of breath disappeared, and the work of the heart, liver and kidneys normalized. Several oxygen therapy can restore the oxygenation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Scientists have conducted a number of studies and found that with the help of oxygen therapy, the life expectancy of patients has increased by 6-7 years, the possibility of deterioration is reduced, and the number of hospitalizations is reduced.

Oxygen concentrators in modern medicine have become a valuable alternative to gas cylinders used to treat lung diseases a few years ago. People need this procedure after surgery and during recovery from illness. Oxygen inhalation can strengthen the immune system and speed up the recovery process after complex surgery.

The operation using the oxygen concentrator is not only suitable for patients, but also for healthy people. This is due to environmental conditions and living in cities where the air is polluted by vehicles and dangerous chemical plants. Therefore, people living in metropolitan areas are often deprived of oxygen. As a result, urban residents are overtired, and they have migraines, lethargy, irritability, and pale skin. Even at home, you can eliminate hypoxia by inhaling and taking special cocktails.

For young children, pediatricians usually prescribe oxygen therapy in the form of drinks. Drinks based on herbal decoctions or oxygen-rich juices are very healthy and delicious. Oxygenated beverages and inhalants are prescribed:

Women with children; people engaged in various sports; weight loss; smokers; elderly women and men

There are no contraindications to oxygen therapy, but it should be done after talking with a doctor. In order to avoid side effects, the prescribed treatment plan, dosage and operation time must not be ignored.

Benefits of oxygen concentrator

The main advantages of medical equipment are: technical safety; the harmlessness of adsorbents; the ability to automate procedures; high oxygen purity; molecular filtration to produce colorless gas; avoid the use of unsafe compressed gas cylinders.

When buying home therapy equipment, you need to pay attention to its power, oxygen flow saturation, country of origin (the most expensive concentrators are sold in the United States and Germany), features, and to ensure the availability of additional features that are easy to use, monitoring and remote control Control the equipment from a distance... To ensure the safety of personnel, the equipment is equipped with an alarm.

Typical changes in HBO blood pressure

Typical changes in HBO blood pressure

Typical changes in HBO

When macypanhbot explains the process that occurs in the patient, it usually points out that the process causes an artificial increase in blood pressure, so oxygen can quickly penetrate into the blood cells.

In order to understand the real situation of what is happening, we took a series of measurements of blood pressure and pulse directly during the operation of the pressure chamber.

Typical changes in blood pressure are given below, such as changes in blood pressure and pulse of a volunteer involved in the study.

Typical changes in blood pressure

A pressure chamber with a working pressure of 1.4 ATA and an oxygen concentrator with 10 l/min and an oxygen mask are used.

The volunteer's condition is characterized by moderate arterial hypertension. (Drug dependence, nordipine 5 mg/day.)

A total of five meetings were held, during which time pressure and pulse were measured with an automatic tonometer every five minutes.

The first measurement is performed at atmospheric pressure after putting the volunteer into the chamber, which corresponds to "0" minutes. Then, within five minutes, the pressure rises to the worker and the next measurement is taken, which corresponds to "5" minutes. The first meeting, 11/7/17, lasted up to 50 minutes, then the pressure was released for 5 minutes, the measurement was taken, and the volunteers left the pressure chamber. After that, five and ten minutes later, two more measurements were taken to determine the nature and level of the reaction.

The beginning of the rest of the course is the same as the first one, with pressure relief from the fortieth minute to the forty-fifth minute.

It can be seen from the figure that in the case of initial hypertension, during the operation of the pressure chamber, the pressure and pulse are always closer to normal and lower than the initial state. This is obviously related to the body’s self-regulation. Provide adequate oxygen supply for tissues under lower pressure and pulse. However, after the stress is released and the training is completed, the stress and heart rate may increase by 10-20 mmHg from the value measured at the end of the operation, which may be dangerous for existing hypertension. 15-20 minutes after the end of the treatment, the pressure and pulse become close to the initial values before the operation.

Typical changes in HBO Cyclicality

The statistical processing of the measurement reveals at least two oscillation processes, which are characteristic of all measurement sessions performed.

1、A non-periodic oscillating process, manifested as a major drop in pulse and pressure, and then tends to return to its original state, which may occur within a few hours. However, since the procedure that uses high pressure and more than 60% oxygen for breathing is not considered, it lasts more than an hour, and because of unsafeness, only areas up to 40-50 minutes are important. On this website, at least 30-35 minutes is very clearly visible. This means that the process reaches the saturation stage at this time, after which compensation and addiction begin. Therefore, considering the increase in pressure and pulse after the operation, it is recommended to end the active period 35-40 minutes after the start of the operation. (Continue to relieve stress) This is done in sections 8, 9, 10 and 12.07.

2、The periodic oscillation process lasts 18-20 minutes. Probably caused by the body's own rhythm. Currently, this is not essential for the development of the best strategy for using HBO programs.

The daily blood pressure and pulse changes of a volunteer. On average, during the study, the upper pressure dropped by 9 mmHg and the lower pressure dropped by 4 mmHg. In addition, nocturnal tachycardia episodes have ceased. Sleep and performance improved.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy of 5 benefits 2021

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy of 5 benefits 2021

Barotherapy or hyperbaric oxygen (HBOT) is an advanced therapy that promotes natural healing. This non-invasive treatment has been proven to be beneficial in many situations and is a non-hormonal treatment approved by public health authorities specifically for the regeneration of human tissues. Provide patients with a simple and painless oxygen therapy that can relieve symptoms such as inflammation, infection, aging, decompression sickness, and gangrene.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy 2021

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is an oxygen therapy that uses pure oxygen and changes the atmospheric pressure. Although it sounds daunting, the process is simple! The patient was placed in a sealed room with a large window, allowing him to be seen from outside the room. When 100% pure oxygen fills the chamber or is supplied to the respiratory system, the atmospheric pressure in the chamber gradually increases. The patient may experience slight changes in the rhythm of breathing and heartbeat. Read on to learn about the best benefits of hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy of General strengthening effect

High pressure therapy can play an important role in restoring the patient's body to a healthy state after an accident or physical injury. Patients injured in traffic accidents or other accidents can get relief from the pain and inflammation associated with road traffic accidents or other injuries. Treatment can also help patients fight bacterial infections.

Children’s oxygen chamber

Tissue regeneration

Under certain conditions, high-pressure therapy can provide patients with excellent long-term regeneration effects. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is sometimes accompanied by stem cell therapy because these therapies can promote each other: in an oxygen-rich environment, the body's natural regeneration process is stimulated, thereby increasing the production of stem cells. It can help damaged tissues to heal.

Test, prove

The research related to hyperbaric oxygen therapy has been conducted for decades, continues to develop, and is recognized by the international medical community. Although different brands of pressure chambers have different research on pressure chambers, accurate data has been collected to confirm the effectiveness of treating a variety of diseases, including inflammation caused by trauma, thermal burns, diver decompression sickness, diabetes, and other diseases , Carbon monoxide poisoning and so on.

Totally relax

High-pressure treatment is gentle and effective, which is helpful for both mild and severely ill patients. Patients suffering from chronic pain find salvation in oxygen therapy because the process is simple, calm and even meditative. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can also help men and women seeking non-surgical methods to combat aging. Long-term hypertension therapy can provide anti-aging benefits similar to serious medications such as botulinum. The difference between the results (and the price tag!) always favors hyperbaric oxygen.

Safe and reliable

Only experts can use the pressure chamber. These state-of-the-art cameras and their ancillary equipment require in-depth medical knowledge, so patients can rest in the room knowing that they are properly handled. The practical benefits of hyperbaric oxygen therapy include affordability (the cost of a course is much lower than other advanced medical procedures), convenience (patients only need to lie down and rest indoors), and the shortest time (the course usually lasts about an hour, sometimes less).

Application of hyperbaric oxygen in scapulohumeral periarthritis

Application of hyperbaric oxygen in scapulohumeral periarthritis

Scapulohumeral periarthritis is a circulatory, hypoxic aseptic inflammatory disease. Scapulohumeral periarthritis usually occurs in people around the age of 50. It is a chronic injury caused by soft tissue degeneration, long-term overactivity, and poor posture. The disease is characterized by pain around the shoulder joint and limited mobility. It is manifested as stiffness of the shoulder joints, inability to raise the arm, pain when rotating the shoulder, which seriously affects daily life and work, and apraxia muscle atrophy may occur in the late stage.

Ms. Wan had symptoms of right shoulder pain and limited mobility a year ago. After being diagnosed with scapulohumeral periarthritis, she was given rehabilitation physiotherapy combined with hyperbaric oxygen therapy. After 3 hyperbaric oxygen treatments, the affected limb was significantly elevated, the pain was significantly reduced, and the range of motion was expanded. She totally took 10 times of hyperbaric oxygen, and her joint pain was significantly relieved, her arms could be raised, she could comb her hair. She recovered normal life.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can improve the blood circulation of the shoulder and the hypoxic state of local blood vessels, muscles and nerves. Reduce inflammation and exudation, reduce tissue degeneration and necrosis, improve edema, and relieve pain. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy at the early stage of the disease can also prevent shoulder tissue adhesion, shorten the course of the disease and improve the prognosis.

From 2006 to 2009, domestic scholars conducted research on 63 patients with scapulohumeral periarthritis treated with hyperbaric oxygen comprehensive treatment. Then found that adding hyperbaric oxygen to treat scapulohumeral periarthritis was more effective than conventional treatment (P<0.05).

In summary, hyperbaric oxygen combined with other physical therapies has the advantages of short treatment course, no pain, quick effect, no toxic side effects, etc. It can be safely used for elderly patients and patients with poor physical conditions and can achieve good therapeutic effects. Hyperbaric oxygen is green and non-invasive, and it has become one of the comprehensive treatment measures for conservative treatment of scapulohumeral periarthritis.

Application of hyperbaric oxygen in carpal tunnel syndrome

Application of hyperbaric oxygen in carpal tunnel syndrome

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a single neurological disease caused by compression of the median nerve as it passes through the inelastic carpal tunnel. CTS is the most common nerve entrapment syndrome in clinical reports. It mostly occurs in people aged 30 to 60. The incidence of women is three times that of men. The diagnosis of CTS is mainly based on clinical symptoms and characteristic physical examination results. The diagnosis requires electrical diagnostic examination.

Transcutaneous pressure of Oximetry (tcpO2)-1

The cause of CTS is that the increased pressure in the CTS the median nerve to be compressed. The most common cause of increased pressure in the carpal tunnel is idiopathic peritendinous synovial hyperplasia and fibrosis in the carpal tunnel. Most of the manifestations are numbness or pain in the three radial fingers, weakness in holding objects, and aggravation at night or in the morning. Sometimes the pain may involve the forearm, but paresthesias only appear in the area innervated by the inferior carpal nerve.

The following is an example. A middle-aged woman has had numbness in her hands for more than 3 months. In addition to the numbness, she has recently started to feel pain. Her daily activities have been restricted, and she even wakes up with numbness and pain at night, so she can alleviate it by getting up and holding her hands frequently. After being diagnosed with CTS, conservative treatment has not been effective for nearly 3 months, so hyperbaric oxygen therapy was decided. She continued to undergo 3 courses of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The symptoms of numbness and pain in her hands improved significantly, and her hand strength was basically restored. The examination showed that the function of the her fingers and wrist joints had been restored.

Hyperbaric oxygen treatment of CTS mainly lies in that hyperbaric oxygen can reduce the damage of pathological factors to neurons, promote the repair and growth of nerve tissue, accelerate the recovery of damaged nerve function, improve the microcirculation and blood perfusion of the injured site, and reduce peripheral nerve the edema of the damaged area improves the local micro environment.

It can be seen that hyperbaric oxygen therapy can significantly improve the clinical symptoms of patients with CTS and the neurophysiological indicators of the median nerve without obvious adverse reactions. Hyperbaric oxygen has a good effect on a variety of nerve injuries and is an important measure for conservative treatment.

The role of hyperbaric oxygen in the treatment of intestinal obstruction

The role of hyperbaric oxygen in the treatment of intestinal obstruction

Intestinal obstruction refers to the obstruction of the contents in the intestines. It is a common acute disease. If handled improperly there will be the risk of death. The mortality rate is about 5%-10%.

Paralytic intestinal obstruction and adhesive intestinal obstruction are common complications after major abdominal surgery. Clinically, gastrointestinal decompression, drugs or surgery are generally used. As a safe and non-invasive treatment, hyperbaric oxygen technology has been continuously applied to the prevention and treatment of postoperative intestinal obstruction.

Mechanism of hyperbaric oxygen treatment of paralytic intestinal obstruction

  1. In the state of hyperbaric oxygen, the volume of gas in the intestinal obstruction cavity reduces, the pressure in the cavity relieves, restores the intestinal tract to normal, then improves the blood supply of the intestinal wall, thereby accelerating the absorption of gas.
  2. Hyperbaric oxygen can rapidly increase the partial pressure of oxygen in the blood and intestinal wall tissues and improve oxygen supply.
  3. The intestinal wall vasoconstriction can reduce vascular exudation, reduce edema, and accelerate the recovery of intestinal peristalsis.
  4. Hyperbaric oxygen also helps prevent and control secondary infections in the diseased bowel.

Related research

Among the 133 cases of abdominal surgery patients who were observed preventive use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, only 3 patients developed paralytic intestinal obstruction and adhesive intestinal obstruction. After comprehensive treatment such as hyperbaric oxygen chambers, the symptoms gradually disappeared. In another group of 199 patients who did not use hyperbaric oxygen therapy for abdominal surgery, 9 patients had postoperative paralytic intestinal obstruction and adhesive intestinal obstruction, and 2 of them underwent adhesion lysis due to conservative ineffectiveness. Patients who were given preventive hyperbaric oxygen therapy had significantly shorter hospital stays after surgery than patients who were not initially given hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Another retrospective study found that the total effective rates of patients with postoperative paralytic intestinal obstruction and adhesive intestinal obstruction after receiving hyperbaric oxygen therapy were 92% and 85%, respectively.

Studies have shown that hyperbaric oxygen therapy has the potential to prevent postoperative paralytic intestinal obstruction and secondary adhesion, and it has a good therapeutic effect for patients with early postoperative recurrent adhesive intestinal obstruction to relieve adhesion. Patients who received hyperbaric oxygen therapy as the treatment of early recurrence of intestinal obstruction had a significantly shorter hospital stay than patients with conservative treatments. It can minimize the suffering and burden of patients, reduce medical expenses, and help improve their quality of life.

The role of hyperbaric oxygen in the treatment of cerebral hemorrhage

Cerebral hemorrhage is an acute cerebrovascular disease, which is more common in middle-aged and elderly people, and has the characteristics of high incidence and high disability. Under the influence of various factors, the incidence of cerebral hemorrhage is increasing year by year, which not only affects the normal life of patients, but even endangers the lives of patients.

hyperbaric-oxygen-treatment-for-brain-injury

High-risk groups

  1. Elderly people who over the age of 50, with the increase of age, the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular function declines, then it is easy to cause many diseases.
  2. People with underlying diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, etc.
  3. People with a history of stroke.

Predisposing factors

  1. Mood fluctuations such as great joy and sadness, emotional instability.
  2. Cold
  3. living habit likes smoking, drinking, overworking, bad sleeping.

Symptoms

hyperbaric oxygen in the treatment

Cerebral hemorrhage usually starts suddenly during activity or when emotionally excited, only a small number of cases occur in a quiet state. Patients generally have no prodromal symptoms, and a few may have dizziness, headache, and limb weakness. Symptoms reach their peak within a few minutes to a few hours after the onset. The severity of clinical manifestations mainly depends on the amount of bleeding and the location of bleeding.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Hyperbaric oxygen treatment of cerebral hemorrhage, on the one hand, increases the blood flow of the vertebral artery, helps to regenerate capillaries, improves the blood supply of brainstem and other tissues, stimulates the ascending network system, helps to restore the patient’s consciousness and relieve nerve the degree of functional impairment. On the other hand, by increasing blood oxygen tension, increasing blood oxygen content, reducing cerebral hypoxia symptoms, quickly improving cell function in ischemic areas, and optimizing microcirculation.

Clinical application has confirmed that on the basis of conventional treatment, combined with hyperbaric oxygen to treat cerebral hemorrhage, the curative effect is remarkable, and it is an effective measure for the treatment of cerebral hemorrhage.

Introduction of Combination of Medicine and Oxygen

Introduction of Combination of Medicine and Oxygen

Because oxygen intake is too common, many people don't think that oxygen is a treatment. So there are many misunderstandings about oxygen therapy, but this is not the case. How important is oxygen to the human body? A person can survive for a month without eating, and a week without drinking water. A series of changes will occur in the body for a few minutes without oxygen. If the blood flow to the brain is completely blocked for 3 minutes, it will fall into a coma, and the chance of waking up is very low. That is, the "vegetative" that the common people often say.

01. The urgency of combination of medicine and oxygen

With the aging of the population, the country has decided to conduct pilot projects of integration of medical care and elderly care in individual cities to explore new models of elderly care. The medical and elderly care institutions accept and treat customers who are completely or partly self-care customers, and needs for elderly care as well as basic medical services. Institutions can provide some basic medical services. Oxygen therapy is an effective and rigid demand in medical services, which can bring tangible health assistance to customers.

02. The necessity of combination of medicine and oxygen

Many common chronic diseases of the elderly are inextricably linked with hypoxia, such as coronary heart disease, hypertension, cerebral infarction, insufficient blood supply to the brain, diabetes, sleep disorders, dementia, deafness and tinnitus. In the final analysis, many treatment methods adopted for the above diseases are to improve tissue hypoxia. Oxygen therapy is to improve hypoxia by directly increasing the oxygen content in the blood, which is of positive significance for the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases.

03. The feasibility of combination of medicine and oxygen

As a medical measure, oxygen therapy has a history of more than 100 years. In 1887, Holzapple gave oxygen to patients with pneumonia in the earliest record of oxygen therapy attempts. During the First World War, an oxygen chamber was built to treat pulmonary edema. In 1920, oxygen tents were invented. At present, nasal catheters or open masks are the most widely used in clinical practice. Oxygen hyperbaric oxygen has a history of about 50 years in China and provides strong oxygen therapy protection. Atmospheric saturated oxygen inhalation is the youngest member of the oxygen therapy family. Compared with other oxygen therapy measures, it has a unique comprehensive advantage.

04. Effectiveness of combination of medicine and oxygen

Among the many oxygen therapy methods, considering that the medical institution is not a real medical institution, and there is no management experience in a medical institution, the most suitable oxygen therapy measures are the micro-pressure soft oxygen chamber and the normal pressure saturated oxygen inhalation, two methods each has its own advantages, complements each other and makes up for each other. Clients of integrated medical care institutions often have chronic hypoxic diseases. A large number of clinical practices have proved that reasonable oxygen therapy plays a role in health care, treatment and maintenance of chronic hypoxic diseases in a relatively stable state for these customers.

05. Combination of medicine and oxygen is also suitable for family elders

Affected by the traditional Chinese old-age care model, most elderly people still choose to rely on community hospitals to adopt a family-based old-age care model. In addition to the necessary drugs, active oxygen therapy is a kind of chronic hypoxic disease that integrates health care, prevention and treatment positive measures.  Example: a woman is a retired teacher who lives on the third floor. She has to rest twice every day when she goes home and goes upstairs. Otherwise, she will suffer from chest tightness, breathlessness, and weakness. After 60 minutes of normal pressure and oxygen inhalation every day, her condition improves quickly.

Hypoxia produces free radicals

Under hypoxic conditions, the metabolism of free radicals in the organism is disordered, the overall concentration of free radicals increases, and the body's antioxidant system is destroyed. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can remove free radicals in the body and repair the damage caused by hypoxia; it can maintain normal physiological indicators and protect organ functions.

When a lot of people hear about oxygen, they think of free radicals, and they think of free radical damages. Free radicals are the products of aerobic metabolism. As long as oxygen is inhaled, free radicals will be produced. When aerobic metabolism is in good condition, the free radicals produced will be disposed of in time. When oxygen supply is insufficient, free radicals produced are not treated in a timely manner and can accumulate locally, damaging adjacent tissues, cells and other components. Adequate oxygen supply can make cells in a good state of aerobic metabolism...However,free radicals are not to be feared. Oxygen will eventually defeat them.
